Origami Flowers
These origami flowers will be a placement 'card' for seating. I have three different patterns made. 12'x12' paper was bought at Michael's and then trimmed to 6x6 squares to make each petal. There are some tutorials I found online that were helpful, if you look up Kusudama flowers.
Advice Box
Advice box for the advice cards shown on 'All things Paper' tab.
The top of the box has a slit that I cut out to insert the cards.
The outline of the 'Advice' sign was created using CAD software, then printed and cut out.

Silk Flower Pens
Silk flower pens for the advice cards.
I bought black sharpie pens that don't bleed (Love these pens!)
The flowers were purchased at Michael's, these are silk flowers. I left a little bit of the stem from the flower to attach it to the pen and then wrapped the pen in black ribbon. It took a couple of tries to get the ribbon correct.

Flip flop basket
The flip flops were purchased at Old Navy during a sale and got different sizes and colours.
Bathroom Baskets
Most of these items were purchased at the Dollar Store |
Wooden letters
These will be placed at the center of the head table with votive candles on the side and my bouquet at the back of it. The letters were purchased at Wal-Mart and covered with paper purchased at Michael's.
Table Numbers
These were originally black but decided to spray paint them silver.
Frames were purchased from the dollar store and numbers were purchased from Michael's.

Centerpiece
Centerpiece mock-up
I will be adding water beads to the vase. They look like small gel beads.
The flowers were purchased at Pier 1 imports, the decorative paper was purchased at Michael's and the square candle holders were from Ikea.

Cupcake Wrappers made from doilies.
Easiest DIY project. I made 72 for $2! These doilies were purchased from the dollar store and they were cut out using a template I downloaded from a tutorial. They were then glued together. The cupcake stand was purchased from a local supply store that started selling wedding supplies. These 'Reserved' signs were hand painted after using a technique I found to trace the word on the wood plaque. First you print the word to the correct size so it'll fit on the wood plaque, turn the printed sheet over and 'colour' the whole back side of the word with a pencil. Then place it face up on the plaque and hold it in the place with tape. Then with a pencil trace the outline of the letters and they will appear on the plaque. Like carbon copying.
The ribbon was stapled to the back and I used command strips to stick them to the ceremony benches. This way they didn't fall and they didn't ruin the painted surface. |
